Indie/rock but with synths only.

Electronic music through the eyes of a indie rock band is the best way to describe trio Federation. The combination of samplers, synths and drum machines with pedals, amps and live drums create an electronic sound with a distinct grittiness.

“Federation” was considered as an album title for a long time but was ultimately downvoted and the band settled on the track title “Heartfelt”. Because if this album is anything, it's from the heart. A summary of the past ten years in eleven tracks.

“I guess we started to develop the sound of the band and this record back when we started making electronic music together in our teens. Before that we mostly played punk and more guitar based music. Many tracks have come and gone, but we finally boiled it down to this album, and it feels like a perfect collection. Some songs we started to write about ten years ago and have then remade multiple times, and others came together more quickly. We all also live in three different cities in Sweden, Malmö, Stockholm and Kungsör. Living so far apart does not make the process faster.” - Nisse

The sound on Heartfelt sounds very much like the sum of all its members, with influences ranging from punk, thrash metal, pop and psychadelica to IDM, ambient, electronica and techno.

The album was recorded and produced by Federation and mixed and mastered by Joakim Lindberg at Studio Sickan in Malmö.
